Every adventure is designed as a short, complete session, not an endless feed. There's no mechanic built to artificially extend time spent on the app.
We collect only the minimum needed to run the experience, and we never use it for advertising. Our practices are assessed against COPPA (US), GDPR (EU/UK), PIPL (China), and Australia's Children's Online Privacy Code. Full detail is in our privacy policy.
Yes. As the parent, you're in full control of the account: you can view, correct, export, or delete anything we hold about your family.
The active age tier today is 8–13, with pacing and vocabulary designed for that range. Other age tiers are in development.
Every story draws on vetted sources (UNESCO, official tourism boards, Encyclopaedia Britannica, biodiversity databases like iNaturalist depending on the topic). See our References & Sources page for the categories and sources we check our content against.
No. The 14-day trial requires no card. At the end of the trial, your account automatically moves to Free Explorer — you only move to paid if you choose to.
Yes, with no commitment and no need to give a reason.
It depends on the plan. Free Explorer includes 2 parent profiles and 1 child profile, with 3 Discover the World destinations and 2 Local Discovery searches per month. Solo Explorer covers 1 child profile with unlimited stories and discovery. Family Explorer Plus covers up to 4 child profiles. Educator & Co-Op Explorer covers up to 20 child profiles. Every account also includes two parent profiles as standard, whichever plan you choose.
Every adventure is designed as a short, complete session, not an endless feed. An off-screen task is assigned after each sub-dimension is completed, and there's no mechanic built to artificially extend time spent on the app.
MAU works on any modern browser and device. Once a child has opened a destination, that destination's dimensions and sub-dimensions are saved to their profile and stay accessible offline — no internet connection needed to revisit places they've already explored. Opening a new destination for the first time does require a connection.
All destinations already opened are saved to your profile. You won't lose any of your content when you upgrade or downgrade your plan.
Yes — both ends of the 8–13 range are catered for. An avid reader might move through sub-dimensions faster than others, but every task is designed to be safe and appropriate across the whole 8–13 age range.
Every piece of content goes through a verification process to confirm it's accurate and child-safe, built to comply with the MAU Family Promise. Visit the References & Sources page for more detail on how and where we fact-check our content.
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on paid subscriptions. If you are not satisfied, you may request a full refund of your most recent subscription charge within 14 days of that charge — whether it is your first payment or a renewal — for any reason. This applies to all plans, including the annual Educator & Co-Op Explorer plan.
No. No advertising, and no aggressive engagement mechanics (dark patterns) — that's a founding principle of the product.
You can write directly to hello@maggiesadventuresuniverse.com — requests are read by the team itself, not an outsourced call centre.
